My personal feeling is one of loss for the old structures and a sort of death of the look of Galeton. Now the road way is bare except for a few surviving structures and the town has effectively been moved to the other side of the creek. Without business or a source of livelihood for Galeton I wonder what the next ten years will bring?

Tis a shame that Galeton, has gone the way of most small towns. Back in the late 1950's and early sixties Galeton was a flourishing fantastic community. I have been coming to Leetonia,Cedar Run, Galeton, etc. since 1953 as my grandfather had owned the Anthracite camp in Leetonia and would spend the whole summer living in Leetonia.
